VW independent staff It is special election day throughout Ohio, with the lone issue being State Issue 1. The polls will be open statewide from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. If approved, State Issue 1 would raise the threshold to amend the Ohio Constitution from a simple majority to 60 percent.
